History

Starting almost fifty years ago, Miss Rodeo Texas is a rich tradition. In the past, the annual pageant was held in Wichita Falls, Stephenville, Fort Worth, and presently San Antonio.

The young lady crowned “Miss Rodeo Texas” represents our great state in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant held every year in Las Vegas in conjunction with the National Finals Rodeo in December.

Like many other pageants, Miss Rodeo Texas is not a beauty contest. Our contestants are judged on criteria such as: personality, conversational ability, horsemanship, poise, and intelligence - just to name a few.

Contestants come from every corner of our state to compete for the crown of Miss Rodeo Texas during the annual pageant held each June. The Miss Rodeo Texas Committee works year round to provide an excellent pageant that gives away approximately $50,000 in awards and scholarships to the winners.

Our Miss Rodeo Texas, Miss Rodeo Texas Teen and Miss Rodeo Texas Princess are great ambassadors for the business community when making appearances and most important are superb role models for the youth of Texas.

During her reign, Miss Rodeo Texas travels the state representing our colorful western heritage, the professional sport of rodeo, and the western manufacturing industry. She will visit over a dozen major rodeos and appear before well over 3,000,000 people.

This truly remarkable opportunity for young women in Texas would not be possible without the dedication of our members and the contributions of our supporters and sponsors.

Mission Statement

To provide a quality state pageant, maintaining an environment where contestants, participants and committee members will be enriched by the experience of the pageant.

To provide scholarships for educational opportunities.

To support the queens as they represent Texas, our Western Heritage, the Sport of Professional Rodeo, the Western Apparel Industry, and as they model good will and integrity for the youth of Texas.
